HKBP Theological Seminary is belong to Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP), a member of Lutheran World Federation (LWF) which is located in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, Indonesia (46 km from Lake Toba, one of the biggest lake in the World.
The Seminary was a part of the HKBP Nommensen University and was separated since 12 April 1978. The main reason of the separation of the Seminary from the University was in orther the seminary closer to the congregations and the leadership of the HKBP.
Most of the students come from the HKBP and some of them come from another churches around Sumatra such as GKPI, GKPS, HKI, and others. From time to time there has been an increasing number of apllicants who want to study in the semnary. From about 400 applicants every year the seminary accept around 100-120 new students.
This year the seminary has 500 undergraduate students and 96 posgraduates students, served by 25 fulltime faculties and 14 part timer faculties and 40 staffs.
